4th edition

This is a 4th edition print from the Estate of Charles F. Ramus, Denver Colorado. mr. Ramus was a curator of prints and drawings at the Denver Museum and art history professor at the University of Denver. He dedicated over 40 years to collecting fine art prints and drawings with a focus on European artists to include Goya, Toulouse -Lautrec, Paul Gavarni and Odilon Redon to name a few.

Related to Caprichos 19 and 21 , with which it forms a series on prostitution and its consequences for men and women. This Capricho is the consequence of Capricho 19 , continuing with the theme of the exploitation of lustful men by unscrupulous women. Goya continues to use the metaphor of men – birds that, attracted by lust, are plucked and robbed of their possessions. More than the world of prostitution as such, Goya emphasizes the consequences of prostitution, and emphasizes the foolishness and recklessness of those who are careless and do not gain experience with the misfortune of others.
