Collection: Hannu Palosuo
Hannu Palosuo was born in 1966 in Helsinki in Finland. He lived in Stockholm and Berlin. In 1989 he was in Rome with a scholarship and there he attended the master program in Art History at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and the Fine Arts Academy. After some years he has permanently moved to Rome where he is currently living in and working.
In 2009 he took part in Biennale di Venezia invited by the Arabic – Syrian Republic and for the occasion he realized “None of them is the truth”, a pictorial installation that covered the entire available room aiming to “swallow” the onlooker inward the work itself.
He was invited at Biennale di Venezia even for the following two editions (in 2003 taking part together with Giorgio De Chirico, Concetto Pozzati and the Cracking Art Group at the group exhibition “Cara amica arte” curated by Duccio Trombadori in Sas Servolo Island).
Starting from the evocation of memory and remembrance’s theme, the artist sets ordinary life as protagonist of his paintings with opposed but simultaneously accordant tones thus to highlight both the positive and the negative part of the image, its presence and its emptiness.
