Canal Cheong Jagerroos 張 彤 茹 (b. 1968), grew up in an artistic family in Macau. With nearly hundred successful exhibitions accomplished, Canal Cheong Jagerroos is an established international Chinese contemporary artist. In a fascinating way, the works of Canal Cheong Jagerroos combines the past and present, East and West. For the past 30 years, Cheong Jagerroos has lived and worked in numerous countries, from Asia to Europe and Africa. The unique experiences of living in so many diverse places have influenced her work both consciously and subconsciously. In her works, Cheong Jagerroos rebuilds the language, signs, and symbols with contemporary expression. The artist gives birth to a mysterious and vibrant colour of her own by creating paintings on multiple layers with mixing different materials where she embraces positive energy, peace, and harmony along her creative path. Canal Cheong Jagerroos recent large canvas solo exhibitions “Blue and Red - Extract”, “Undefined Exclusion”, “Floating Island – Utopia”, “Cinderella In Pink” and “Beholders” were on view at several art museums in Finland and China from January 2017 through May 2020.
