Collection: Brian Marion

Internationally recognized First Nations artist Brian Marion was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1960. Brian was raised amoung the Saulteaux and Cree of the prairies. At the age of fifteen he moved to Ontario to live with the Ojibway of Northern Ontario. Brian's chosen path of artistic expression became the Woodland School of Art, created by his mentor, Norval Morrisseau. With over 30 solo and group shows around the globe, Brian's contribution to First Nation's art was significant. His work is featured in many private and corporate collections including the former Prime Minister of Canada John Chretien, over 12 Universities and Colleges across Canada, as well as Chicago, New York, Milan Italy and Africa. Brian passed away Dec. 11, 2011 due to diabetic complications.
