Elena Maijala

In Elena's art, the bottomless thirst and curiosity of life is emphasized. Her jobs is always opening doors, finding new beginnings. Sometimes the traces end short, sometimes they open up new dimensions, giving a deep artistic satisfaction. I use sad colors, heavy layers of color burden the fabric, gold splashes confusingly wastefully, but the end result conjures up sensitivity, silence and fragility. She has  two selves: one is a colorful expressionist, the other a minimalist.
